S10510-N20: PAI and OCT

Institutions: Project leader: Members: Description
  • The aim of subproject 10 is to combine PAI and optical coherence tomography (OCT) into a fast multi-modal imaging system, providing depth resolved tissue microstructure and functional information. OCT is based on white light interferometry and delivers non-invase morphological and structural information with high speed in the order of 100 MHz and a resolution in the μm-range. Therefore it is beneficial to combine PAI with an optical microscopy method, allowing to measure both, morphology and function. The optical technique addresses the following demands
    • 3D imaging
    • imaging depth range comparable to PAI
    • high transversal and axial resolution
    • high speed
    • combination with PAI practicable
